NOKIANokia launched new smartphones in Hong Kong with the single-tap technology for sharing and paring

Nokia has launched three new smartphones using the single-tap NFC technology for sharing and paring. Nokia 700, 701 and 600 smartphones have the latest Symbian Belle- technology, and with the attractive pricing they are aimed at mass markets.

According to PCWorld, Symbian's market share in the second quarter of 2011 was 22.1 percent, compared to 40.9 percent during the same three months last year. In the same period, Android's market share grew from 17.2 percent to 43.4 percent.

- There is a sense of urgency in the way improvements and innovation are being delivered to the platform that demonstrates how committed Nokia is to make Symbian products a competitive smartphone choice, comments Nick McQuire IDC.

A press release by Nokia states the updated technology allows users to share content between devices with a single-tap and NFC capabilities allow any of the three new smartphones to pair with NFC-enabled mobile accessories such as speakers or Bluetooth headphones and headsets.

- Symbian Belle and the three new handsets we are launching today show our commitment to continue delivering Symbian products that allow people to choose what is most important to them in terms of user experience, design, functionality and price. These will not be last products or updates we will deliver on Symbian, said Ilari Nurmi, Vice President at Nokia at the Hong Kong launch.
